In Remembrance "The Day Bowie Died" (Poem)
In remembrance of one of the best known glam rock n roll artist: David Bowie.
The poem was written days after I had heard that he had passed.
RIP David Bowie Jan 8, 1947 - Jan 10, 2016
Long live the Starman in the Sky.
The Day Bowie Died
Headlines read,
The king of glam rock
Has passed away at 69.
Rebellious creator, birthed
Blackstar ‘till his demise.
Isolated teenage years I
Spent with him, he was
One of the few
That welcomed my kind.
Encouraged the freak
In me, and in my despair,
Oh no love, you're not alone
He'd lullaby.
In times of pain and disillusionments,
He’d advise me;
Turn and face the strange changes.
With hopes high, Soul Love strong,
I know I’d make it through,
with Ziggy by my side.
In present time,
when I feel blue,
I put on his tunes.
His Aladdin Sane poster hangs
On my wall-
He comes alive at night. Long live
The Starman In the Sky.
